Airport: DTN/KDTN - Shreveport [Downtown], LA, USA Date: 3-May-2013
Airline: Private   Aircraft: Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress Photographer: Robin Frosch
Registration + Info:  N7227C 'Texas Raiders' is one of only 13 'Flying Fortresses' which are in a airworthy condition. It has been recognized by AIR CLASSICS magazine as the best restored B-17G bomber currently flying in the world. Operdated by the Commemorative Air Force - Gulf Coast Wing. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Corps on July 12, 1945. This 'Flying Fortress' became airworthy on October 14, 2009 after a long "AD" (Airworthiness Directive). Special thanks to the Gulf Coast Wing for this perfect day. It was such a great feeling to stay in the Cockpit of a flying B-17. And it's not so easy to climb up into the Cockpit for a tall person =) (....more pictures of N7227C) ID: 1229917 / 198 views
